Shopify Integration

Overview

Shopify Clickstream Event Instrumentation enables real-time capture of customer interactions from your Shopify storefront and streams them to Algonomy rCDP for processing. This allows you to track key behavioral events such as page views, product views, search actions, add-to-cart events, and completed purchases.

The instrumentation captures event data along with contextual metadata and constructs structured event payloads that are transmitted to Algonomy rCDP through the configured tracking endpoint.

Note: All Shopify instrumentation methods follow a standardized event taxonomy, ensuring consistency across Web, Mobile, and API integrations.

These events help build a complete view of the customer journey across the storefront. By implementing clickstream instrumentation, you can ensure that critical user interactions are accurately captured and made available for analytics, personalization, product recommendations, and other engagement use cases.

How It Works

  1. Customer interactions occur on the Shopify storefront

  2. Instrumentation captures events and extracts relevant metadata

  3. Events are structured into standardized payloads

  4. Payloads are sent to Algonomy rCDP in real time

  5. rCDP processes events for analytics, segmentation, and activation

Tip: Choose the right instrumentation method based on your level of control, customization needs, and implementation effort.

Integration Approaches

Algonomy supports two approaches for implementing Shopify event instrumentation:

Recommendation: Use No-Code Instrumentation for quick onboarding and standard eCommerce tracking. Use Pixel Instrumentation when you require custom logic, advanced enrichment, or precise control over event payloads.
